Fascia boards run along the lower edge of your roof, supporting the bottom row of tiles and carrying the guttering. Soffit boards close the gap between the fascia and the wall. Together they protect the roof structure from weather and pests.

Traditional timber fascia and soffit requires repainting every few years to prevent rot. Once rot sets in, it can spread to the roof rafters — a far more expensive repair. Replacing timber with uPVC eliminates this maintenance cycle entirely.

Our uPVC fascia and soffit installations use fully vented soffit boards to maintain essential roof ventilation, preventing condensation and damp in the roof space. All boards are fitted over the existing timber where structurally sound, or the timber is removed and replaced where necessary.

Velux roof windows transform dark attic rooms and loft conversions into bright, usable living spaces. They are also an excellent way to add natural ventilation to a room without altering the external appearance of the property significantly.

Correct installation is everything with roof windows. A poorly fitted Velux will leak — often not immediately, but within a few years as the flashing deteriorates. We use the correct Velux flashing kits for every tile type, including the EDW insulation collar to prevent cold bridging and condensation around the frame.

We install the full Velux range including centre-pivot, top-hung, and fixed skylights. We also carry out repairs and re-flashings on existing Velux windows that have begun to leak, which is often a more cost-effective solution than full replacement.

Ridge tiles sit at the apex of a pitched roof, covering the join between the two roof slopes. They are bedded and pointed in mortar, which over time is attacked by frost, wind, and rain. As the mortar deteriorates it cracks, shrinks, and eventually falls away — leaving gaps through which water, wind, and pests can enter the roof space. This is one of the most common and most overlooked causes of roof leaks in Irish properties.

We carry out full ridge re-pointing and re-bedding using a flexible, weather-resistant mortar mix suited to the Irish climate. Where ridge cappings have slipped, cracked, or broken, we replace them with matching tiles or modern dry-fix ridge systems that eliminate the need for mortar entirely. Dry-fix ridge systems use mechanical fixings and a flexible gasket, providing a permanent, maintenance-free solution that is now widely regarded as the industry standard.

Hip tiles — the angled tiles running down the hips of a hipped roof — are subject to the same deterioration and are treated as part of the same service. We inspect the full ridge and hip line, remove all loose or failed mortar, re-bed and re-point each tile individually, and apply a finishing coat to ensure a clean, weathertight result. All work is carried out from scaffolding or a properly erected tower to ensure safe access and a thorough finish.
